You two are funny! I did use a fan on one of my soaps to cool it off due to the fragrance oil trying to overheat the batch.

I've checked the recipe over and over and can't see any mistakes. The two items that are "new" in this batch are the beeswax and this particular refined shea. The unscented batch is cuttable, though a little soft in the middle. Thinking it didn't gel, even though it was wrapped up and on a hot radiator. The scented batch is still very soft. Could an FO cause issues like this? It is one I have never used. That batch also refused to trace. Going to make something new and shiny tomorrow! Then I'll have 3 batches to watch like a hawk! LOL

*locks ares with Coolah and blows on soap* ddrrryyyyy darn you!!! DRRRYYY! hehe

Some fragrances can slow down trace or make the soap soft. So that's a possibility.

Shiny- you say? Like sparkley or shiny like chrome? I love things that sparkle! Wonder if anyone has ever come up with a mirrored soap?

I managed to cut the confetti batch, it is still a bit soft though. Will plane off any rough spots. The coconut batch is still extremely soft, no zap inside, but still oozing zappy water underneath. Will leave it for around a week and see what happens. My spoon swirl is PERFECT in it too dammit! I'll probably never get another spoon swirl as good, looks almost like a funnel pour!

Do you always put it in the fridge for inital cure? I assume it did not gel.. ? correct? Not sure when you put it in the fridge which is why i asked about the gel. I know it wouldnt gel if you put it right in the fridge.

I've had a lot of problems with "soft soap" after I put batches in the fridge. I have stopped putting mine in the fridge because of this. ?

Confetti batch is nice an firm now, but the "coconut" one is still too soft to cut, the inside is sticky and soft. Reminds me of silly putty only stickier. Thinking its time to bin it, perfect spoon swirl and all. *grumbles* The only thing I didn't like was my sprinkle "experiment" disaster on the top. But sticky and soft after 9 or 10 days probably isn't a good batch :(

5% shea, I just forgot to type it when I did my recipe! I've used shea before without an issue, this shea was just from a different company and was "refined" the first one I don't think was, but I don't remember. The confetti batch has the shea too, and it is fine. I suspect that the FO is the culprit in the spoon swirl batch.
