I was always the wuss of the child world. There's some slight benefits to being the kid that no one wanted to befriend lol. No one around to dare me to do stuff.

I thought touching your tongue to a battery was a right of passage during childhood. Yes, it is that curiosity that children have and will put flutters in the hearts of their mothers. But childhood was a long time ago, so one day I just touched some raw soap with my fingertip and touched it to my tongue... ZAP! Quick grabed the apple cider and rinsed my mouth out. Also tested the oils leaking from one of my Christmas soaps.... bigger ZAP! That one got rebatched, as it had overheated and separted.

Sounds like I missed out on the whole battery-licking thing as a kid, too! I'm ten years older than my only sibling, so I didn't have a brother or sister around to dare me to do it. I guess my friends weren't battery-lickers, either.

I did find a 9-volt in our battery stash today and touched it to my tongue. It must be dead, though, because I didn't feel anything. Thank goodness my husband didn't see me - he would have thought I've done lost my mind!

No one dared me and I tried the dogie biscuits all on my own! All but the charcoal were yummy! Oh and melting crayons on the radiator heating unit, I think I did time for that one.

Oh the memories! Using Mom's $100 lipsticks to write on the sidewalk... spraying pam all over the kitchen floor so we could "skate"; actually surprised we survived that one, Mom wasn't pleased when she came out and ZIIIP! BANG!! down she went. Oops? Was apparently hard to wash off too The battery wasn't a dare for me, it was lick it or I beat the snot out of you! Yay for older sisters! Better than the time she made us drink a tablespoon of Buckley's.. she said it was syrup!
