You see, the problem is that I think I know the *theory*, it's the putting into practice that I seem to have issue with....
I think I know what a 'light trace' is, but this only seems to take a 10-20 seconds worth of burst on the hand blender to achieve, and Im worried that it wont be mixed properly, so I blitz some more and it begins to gloop up (not quite set in the pan, but you know what I mean). And that is without worrying about EO's and colour!

I'll maybe post some more pictures up of attempts so far...

Coolah - yes, I have read through many of your trials and tribbles throughout your soaping journey But you certainly seem to be coming out on top!

I have had a couple FOs that accelerated trace, when I use them again I will try the Coolah method! Hopefully it will work for me too!

Adam, did you wife/mum ever make tablet? It sounds similar. Stir stir stir stir then move FAST!

Coolah - that sounds not too much different from what I do, except I do swirl a little bit with the blender, otherwise it just seems to send out plumes of creamy coloured stuff, which i then mix together with a silicone spoon until the whole mix is a consistant colour. I shall try the 'Coolah Stare' method however

Shan - neither my mum nor my wife make tablet, but I'm a dab hand at it I do, however, find that a chocolate or a peanut butter fudge is much worse at mix, mix, mix, nothing, mix, arrrrrrgh-it's-set-in-the-pan trouble

I was going to try cutting down/out my palm oil as my recipe traces really quick!

Might do that but Im gonna do the 'Coolah stare 'too! It'll be a giggle fest each time I think, no wait, soaping is a serious business!!!

LOL, the first time I did it, I was all serious as I was watching intently. But the second time I did it, I stared, and then I wide eyed stared, then I yelled "BLINK DAMN YOU" at the batch hahaha. Course, could have been the extra sugar I had that day as well.
