Ungelled soaps are lighter in color, can take less fragrance and may zap, up to three days.
Gelled soaps are generally darker, some of the top notes in a fragrance can disappear, but the soap saponifies faster.
Whether it gels or not, all CP soaps should cure for 4 to 6 weeks.

I do both depends on the look I am going for. Many people tell me that the ungelled bars last them longer? I never noticed this in using them myself, but one customer only orders ungelled soap from me every year.

I haven't noticed any difference how long the gelled & ungelled soaps last, either. Mine all last about the same unless they've been sitting in water.
