Would colloidal (sp?) oatmeal have any advantage in a soap? Or maybe a mixture of ground oatmeal for exfoliation and colloidal for it's soothing properties......? (i know, no claims)

thank you guys... i will to look for that kind of oatmeal here.. actually when i went to store here, most of the oatmeal here are instant and there are also quick cooking... but i saw one that need to be cooked for 8-10 minutes.. aside from that no more.... that need to be cooked longer than that.. but i will still try to look in some other store..

by the way, i want to try to add Lard as part of my base oil.. i found one in the store but it is not pork lard... it is a vegetable lard... what do you think guys.. is it still OK? is it the same with a pork fat lard?

The quick cooking type doesn't work out well in soap. Use the type that takes long to cook. I put them in the blender to make fine powder.

I'm now curing a batch of oatmeal soap, I added shea butter, beeswax, canola, olive, castor, palm and coconut. I want a hard bar.. It does smell really good due to the fragrance of honey. It supposed to be opaque white but due to the oatmeal I used, it's a little brownish in color.

Good luck and post pictures of your soap. We love pictures! :D
