I have rather dry sensitive skin and have had much less problems since I started using my own soaps. Everyone I have given them to also says the same. I needed much less moisturizer last winter and it was very cold, so very dry indoors. Did you know you can take off makeup with good old olive oil? Works just as well as commercial make-up removers but leaves my face soft and pretty. You just rub some in, wipe with a warm damp wash cloth. I don't even have to use a moisturizer afterward. You can even use olive oil as a cleanser. Just wipe on, wipe off with a wet wash cloth. Cleared up my skin after some hormonal craziness.

I love olive oil for my face. We are in Brooklyn and it gets really windy here in the winter and cold too, of course. Through experimenting I found that grapeseed oil, almond oil and avocado oil also work really well for me, they all absorb well and make my skin super soft. When it gets really bitter here I will do a thin layer of oil and then a thin layer of petroleum jelly over that (to form an occlusive barrier and help lock moisture in). I do this before bed and find that I wake up with a cute moist face ;).

As for using it as a makeup remover, absolutely! Like attracts like so it makes it a really easy and efficient way to remove makeup.
