hello all

when doing co/op does the size of the batch determine how long it stays in the oven? and does titanium diox give soap that very vibrant white color? or is that an added colorant? tia soapers!

When I do CPOP in the oven, I only wait long enough that the soap is in complete gel. After that I take it out so the soap doesn't overheat. Let cool, then cut. The lighter your oils and butter, the better TD will work. The exception is fragrances that have vanilla in them. Over time the soap will discolor anyway.

OMGEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZ i was sooooooo excited and nervous about doing my first cp/op...... after i put it in the oven i realied i forgot to put in my superfat (castor) it is a 4lb batch and the amount of castor was 90.71 grams. do you guys think it ill be ok?? or is a rebatch in my near future?? which i have NEVER done before

I always add all my oils at the same time - I don't add any at trace because the lye is still active and will take whatever oils it wants. (learned that from Irena!) Not to mention that you won't forget to any anything that way either There's really no way of knowing if your soap will be ok until it's cooled and you check it for zap. If it doesn't zap, it's ok to use, it just might not be as nice since it's not as superfatted. You can rebatch and add the castor to it or just keep it as a hand soap as is.

Another trick I learned with CPOP is to set a timer every 10-15 minutes to check on your soap. Some recipes gel very quickly and others don't so a timer is a great way to remember to check! Also be sure to keep good notes so you'll know the next time what to expect.

What is cp/op? Do you do CP and then just put it in the oven? What is the reason?

If your oven only goes to 200, turn it on til the oven warms up. Then turn it off and put your soap in there. Keep an eye on it. As soon as it's in full gel take it out and let cool. When completely cool, cut.

ok so i didnt get zapped and my color morphed from blue to green. im guessing because it was a ,milk soap
