I plan on making an Orange spice bar. What can I use naturally to get a cinnamony brown color?

Cocoa powder, perhaps?

I am a newbie and have so far not experimented with colour yet (I shall be doing some soon though) but on Soap Queen TV on YouTube there was a nice demonstartion on how to use coloured mica powder to colour your soap.

A quick check of eBay and there are literally dozens of colours and shades and it seems that you need something like 1g of powder per 1Kg to base soap.

So it mght be worth wile checking out what the Soap Queen says first though.

Thanks but looking for more of spices/botanicals to color with. I know cocoa will go brown ive used it before just not the right 'brown" im looking for.

we made a batch of simple starter soap with unrefined palm oil which is a red colour and made the soap a very vivid orange colour, similar in colour to an orange fruit.

Perhaps using that with some cocoa powder may give you the desired results.

I checked and the SAP value for unrefined Palm oil is the same as refined, it's just very very orange.

You could infuse an oil with annatto seeds or turmeric for a bright yellow-orange color. Maybe that mixed with cocoa powder will give you a more golden color.

I've used tumeric on my orange spice bars, but I think you want a deeper color with more brown rather than the orangy brown of tumeric.
You could try ground cloves - they will give you a brown colour. As you're looking for a cinnamon color, you could try ground cinnamon powder - it will give a tan to brown color. However, it can be an irritant, so needs to be used with caution.
Comfrey root will give you a nice milky brown and elderberries steeped in lye solution will give light brown color.

Made a peppermint soap today and used red kaolin clay and its close to what I was thinking. Might use that and add a little paprika to it
