Teach Soap

I'm currently out of my normal olive oil until tomorrow (24 hours never seemed so long!!), but I do have some a friend gave me. Problem is, the oil is VERY green. Like WAY GREEN Too green for my liking to use with proper soaps, but I was thinking I could use it for practicing. Not wanting to also waste my normal ingredients, I was wondering how possible it would be to make a castile soap for the pure purpose of practicing my piping. Wow, say that 5 times fast!! Pippi from Mr Poppers Penguins would be pleasantly pleased.

Apart from the long cure time (not really an issue for me with this idea) and the long time to trace (any recommendations for water discount to speed up trace but still allow piping?), are there any other problems I might proximate with this predicament. (just too much fun now!)

Is it pomace? That one traces pretty fast for me. If it's the regular and you're using nothing else, it might take a looong time to trace, but it's doable. I would do at least a 10% water discount.

Sometimes A Mistake is so much fun, You just have to do it again!

I see. I've never tried that brand, but I have done up to a 40% lye solution to get a quicker trace.

Nah I've never tried this brand before either. I went groveling to her yesterday as I am out of my olive oil and completely void of cash until Monday. But 3 days without soaping was just too unbearable to think about and I knew she had some olive oil about.

Since I seem hell bent on practicing my piping at the moment, I thought of spending the weekend practicing with the green as grass olive oil.

I've used the green olive oil before and the soap came out a cream color - not really any green tint at all.

I have a gallon that dark. I use it for discolouring scents like dragon's blood!

That's about the same color as the walmart EVOO that I was using until I found pomace locally for $14/gallon.
