Teach Soap

Ive been looking over some old threads about putting dried flowers in CP soap, I understand they will probably turn brown after some time, what im more concerned about is how dry do they need to be, can i just pop them in the microwave for a minute, or do i need to hang them for weeks? thanks

Any botanicals you use in your soap should be completely dried out, and yes, they will most likely turn brown (except for calendula petals). Lavender buds end up looking like mouse droppings.

infusing them in oil before will help to make them softer?

Most of my flowers like calendula petals, lavender buds, and rose petals have all come pre-dried. However, just recently one of my darling friends microwave pressed some flower for me. If you are unfamiliar with this technique, it's very easy to learn. Just google it. But, the flowers were only a day old. I used them in the soap and the edges did brown a bit, but a pressed flower is so unique that i'ts worth it! Good luck!
