Teach Soap

We're going on... 3 weeks! Hehe, still all good, no "first marriage fight" yet!

On a soaping note; I've noticed that the batter that is left on the bowls isn't solidifying, it is staying creamy. Like thick lotion. Also my palm oil stays liquid in the bag. Can you say UGHHHH? Too hot! My soaps seem to be aging properly at least. How do I unmold soaps that are staying squishy? Freeze them overnight? Then let them rest for a day or 2 before I cut them? I have a nice new cheese cutter that works wonders!

Working on my soap/crafting room now, but it has carpet. Empire estimated almost $2000 for an 11 X 11 foot room with a closet... for vinyl flooring! I nearly died! Then I need lighting, plumbing and counters. $$$$$$$$ Darn addictions *twitch* I totally blame you guys for this.

I know right? We decided to get estimates from other, local, companies. I really don't want to spend more than $500 on a floor. Going to try and get the cabinets and sink cheaply from people who are remodeling their kitchens, just not 100% sure where to look for stuff like that! I looked at a habitat for humanity restore WOW! Expensive! More expensive than brand new retail. Thought they were supposed to be for folks who needed things for a reasonable price! I'll get it done eventually!

If you or someone you know has a Sam's Club membership, you can buy laminate flooring there. We actually bought ours there that we had installed in a bedroom. If you buy it in-store, its about $28 for ~17 square feet and includes the padding. You'd have to pay someone for installation though. I think we bought about $300 worth of laminate. And the guy we found to install it charged us $1.15/sq ft.

For sinks & cabinets, look for a local Freecycle list, and of course Craigslist.

Freecycle! Thats the one my sister and brother use. Thanks so much! We bought an Angie's list membership, so I will look on there for someone to do the floors. There is actually a flooring from Lowes that I like, and it is only ~$10/sq.yd.
