I FINALLY!!!!! perfected a lavender color using ultramarine blue & pink and titanium dioxide. I want to mix up a larger batch of this colorant and add it to glycerin to have ready for future soap batches. Will this work?

You can premix colors. Check with your colorant supplier for the best liquid to mix powdered colorant with. Oxides work best mixed with an oil, I like almond or safflower as they don't add a yellow color. Ultra Marines need to be mixed with water, they tend to clump in oil. Easy to remember- Marine=water. I like to put the powdered colorant in a small container and add SMALL amounts of liquid at a time, stirring, till I get the consistency I want.

P.S. There is Violet Ultra Marine and it makes a wonderful lavender color. Have you tried it?

Sorry the Violet UM didn't work for you. I recall that if I make soap with OO it does go a bit gray, also takes a lot more color than my tallow blend soaps.

Yep....UM violet went weird on me also, twice

. I've started mixing the UM Blue and a pink pigment to get the color I want.

UM blue and one of the neon pinks makes a nice purple too!
