Teach Soap

What is the best way to store glitter and mica in? Currently it is in a small ziplock bag (the one I received it in) When I opened it OMG! Even the cat ended up with glitter on him! Plus it was hard to control the amount shaken out and the location. Any suggestions?

Small shaker jars are the best. Like these http://www.brambleberry.com/Powder-Sift ... P4910.aspx Or spice jars work good, too.

I have been trying to use a strainer for spreading the glitter, still gets heavy in one area and light in others. So in researching this I found somewhere that some will put a clean piece of pantyhose over the top of the jar and use that to shake thru. Might keep the glitter\mica in the jar for you as well. I have not tried this yet... need to do another soap batch.

I don't glitter soap very often but do have an almost 4yr old. I keep all the glitter in old spice or baby food jars. I poked a few holes in the lid with a push pin. Now she can shake the glitter out without ever having to open the jar. Unless you use a lot at a time this could work for soap as well.

I use old pepper shakers with most of the holes masked off with tape. Works well for me just to do a dusting.

4 year olds and glitter... it's like moth to a flame. Glitter is VERY hard to get out of a toddlers hair let me tell you - her brother, not herself.

Oh yes - I also have a 3 month old and she always has at least a fleck or two on her.

LOL my pour nephew hates when his sister gets glitter on him! I can hear him now "Geeezzzeeee.... Errriccaa, arg" with his grumbly pout and a roll of his eyes. He is 7 and she just turned 5 this week. Pink and glitter and girlie things are his bane.

I bought some glitter in my last BB order and my girls are already itching to make soaps sparkle! *HELP ME!!!!*

Just don't have the overhead fan on when you're working with glitter or micas.
