Teach Soap

Someone in the country i live in has heard that i make handmade soaps and has asked if i'd be intersted in making soaps as gifts for foreign weddings that happen here on our island. Obviously i was over the moon as she is a wedding planner and could give me a lot of business, but i really don't know much about this and want to be prepared with some examples. For instance do you go by colour scheme of the wedding or do they suggest a theme for you and what about packaging? Does anyone know of a good website i could look at to get an idea pf how i should prepare myself,,,,thanks,,,,any advice greatly appreciated

Check out what sellers are doing on etsy...I have seen lots of wholesale listings for wedding favor soaps. I would say that you could go one of three ways with it: color coordinated, scent coordinated (with the flowers in the wedding), or packaging coordinated. In my opinion, it would have to be all about the packaging for something like a wedding. But with how picky brides tend to be, I would guess this would have to be a pretty custom/individualized project depending on the tastes of the bride. Sounds exciting though!! Good Luck!!

I would ask the bride. Some want specific scents, some want colors that perfectly match their wedding colors. I've had Bridezillas before, so this is one part I tend to stay away from.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

I did some wedding soaps for a friend, but we just did a batch for the bridal party and family as they had to stay overnight at the 'camp'. I had her choose the scent, went with white\off white soap and she had to provide the paper in the color to match the wedding party. It all went well with no issues.
I would for sure stay away from any soap that was made to resemble food or candy... the children would be trying to eat it!
Now, Carrie S with her DH able to engrave on the soaps, that would make cool wedding soaps!

thanks guys,,,,so ive looked on etsy and have seen lots of soaps in different shapes without packaging or just a card with the name of the couple on,,,,,,is this allowed? shouldnt you have all your ingredients and contact numbers. I also bought a soap the other day from a tourist shop, completely bare apart from the price. My immediate thought was of this being very dangerous as it did look like a piece of cheese.
