I bought the CP beginner kit from BB today....so excited/scared/nervous/etc. about the new adventure beyond M&P!!! I hope I can survive it - I've read some really informative and helpful posts here and have seen some great videos so I hope my first small batch will be decent.

Oh, the joy (and slight freak-out) a new challenging hobby possesses! LOL Weee!! I think I'm going to truly enjoy this ride :D

Ah yes sleepless nights thinking up recipes, going over and over and over every step and ingredient,so much info you have to force yourself to step back and absorb a little at a time,and THE MOST FUN I"VE HAD AS AN ADULT IN 30 YEARS ,JOY, accomplishment, artistic gratification....and you want it any other way!!!!

That first batch is so stressful. But once you get it in the mold and clean up, then you'll be wired....wanting to peak every few minutes....counding down the hours until you can unmold it.

Make sure you have everything you need measured and ready to go before you start. It also helps to have everything lined up in the order you'll be using it so you won't forget anything. Start simple - no colors or fragrances in your first batch so you can get a feel for the process. And most of all...HAVE FUN!

Good luck! Ever since I started making soap in 2010 I cannot stop and when I sold my first bar I was overwhelmed with joy!
