Teach Soap

Hi everyone,

I'm sure like me, everyone from time to time has a really good idea for a soap and buys a stupid amount of a random ingredient they've never even heard of before, and then when it's delivered, forgets what it's even for ... I have a good sized box filled with random stuff and I've decided it's time to use some of it! (Or at least, I hope I'm not the only one who does this!)

I was looking through the box and have found a good range of clays and muds that I want to use for some sort of 'spa' bar, but am not sure what will be best and in what quantity I should use it. Here's a list of what I've got:

Dead Sea Mud
Rhassoul lava clay
Fullers earth powder
Kaolin clay
Alfalfa powder

Has anyone made any soaps with any of the above ingredients? I want to make something that'd be good for acne or pores or oily skin. I also have lots of shea butter and mango butter if anyone would advise using anything like that with it.

I would use Kaolin clay for people that are prone to acne. You can use 1 tespoon per lb. of soap. Be aware that you can't make any medical claims ie: acne if your soap is for sale.

I have used kaolin clays and they make really nice soaps! I use 1 tsp per lb of oils. Have fun - love making up new fun stuff!
