Teach Soap

Hi folks, sunday I was making soap and talking to my husband at the same time (not a good idea) . I forgot on of the oils in my recipe, ofcorse it's lye heavy and crumbly. The recipe was 22 oz tallow, 17 oz coconut oil, 17 oz olive oil and 2 oz caster oil, water 19 0z and 8.30 oz of lye. What I think I forgot to put in is ether the coconut or olive oil, cause I premeasured all the tallow. My question is can this be used in laundry ( it smells really pretty) or do I need to chuck it?

I would tell you to rebatch the soap and add the missing oil, but since you don't know which oil was left out, that might be tricky. It sounds like your soap would be really lye heavy, so I don't know about using it for laundry unless you tried rebatching it. You could grate it and add half to the crockpot with half of one of the oils to see how it turns out in a rebatch.

sadly Im going to chuck this batch, shame it had the last of my Sweet Pea FO.

Dang, I love Sweet Pea. I don't let anybody talk to me while soaping. I also try to stay clear of the tv, because I get distracted too easily.

I print out my recipe and check off the oils as I put them in. I'm sure I would have forgotten the castor a number of times otherwise. Why the castor? I don't know!
