Teach Soap

So, does anyone have problems with their EO's fading quickly? I recently did a batch of lavender and was nervous that 20 ml per pound wouldn't be enough so I did 27 ml per pound. Now 2.5 weeks later the scent has faded a lot. Is it just my nose or is this just to be expected? It's frustrating because when I start selling I need the scent to stick for longer than 2.5 weeks! My rosemary EO also faded quickly even though I added way more than the fragrance calculators suggested.

It could be your nose! I keep finding my soaps scents are fading and my family keeps telling me I'm nuts LOL

I'm starting to wonder if that is it! I mean I feel like I'm dumping EO in and getting a light scent... so maybe I should just trust the 15-20ml rule.... does anyone routinely go above the 20ml rule?

Depending where the Lavender comes from I would have used up to 29 ml. per pound of soap. Different vendors have different quality essential oils.

It's from Camden Grey and it's 40/42 from France. 29? Interesting.... so do you find that you have to routinely use above 20ml?

I am having the same problem as well. I am wondering if the soap loses it's scent because of how it is stored. I am making goat mlk soap and certain scents fade a lot. I have heard that putting goat milk soap in an enclosed container will cause the soap to have a bad smell. I have not tried this. I do not know a lot about storage and certainly need some advice on how others are storing the soap and if certain types of containers will help hold the scent longer - after curing of course.
