Hi Everybody. I've been away for a long time. I'm the silly woman who made the cod liver oil soap that horrified my daughter. I'm ready to try another old fashioned soap - pine tar. I've read up on it a bit. The sources I've found say the pine tar should not be more than 25% of the ingredients in the soap. Has anyone made pine tar soap before? Does anyone know some history on it?

Good luck! Be aware that it can make your soap seize and has a strong smell.

Irena's correct. I would suggest not using a stick blender at all with this one, I just use a whisk. It moves really fast. Have your mold right next to your mixing container and be ready to pour!
