Teach Soap

I have a question. I am new to this CP thing..so I may not know where to look for an answer otherwise.
I have a small hotel soap, from France or Belgium. The scent is woody..and I am thinking patchouli. Aside from going to stores that sell the vials of FO, how can I identify the scent? I would like to reproduce the scent,as close as possible, but am not sure where to start.
My next possible option, is taking the piece I have left to a local soap seller, and seeing if they recognize the scent.
Any thoughts? Ideas? Suggestions?

It's hard to say what the fragrance might be as it could have been formulated specifically for this company.

Hmmm..I was afraid of that. I might just need to carry it with me, and see if I can figure it out. Thanks for your input soapbuddy

So is it safe to say the soap came without a label? Most Hotels, well at least in the states, have soaps and other products labelled with the ingredients along with EO/FO due to peoples sensitivities and allergies....to avoid lawsuits. If you know the hotel maybe call them to see who makes the soap...and so forth...you won't get the ratio but at least you might find out what is in it...might be worth a shot.

I travel a lot and find most hotel soaps have along the lines of citrus, lemongrass combos...

Technically, soap in the US needs no ingredient label as it's not considered a cosmetic. If they have an ingredient list, any EO or FO is most likely listed as "fragrance".

Balenciaga has a line of perfumes. I wonder if it is anything close to that.
