Teach Soap

Hello, I would like to know what is the best kind of mold to use for c / p soap making. I know there are a few diffrent kinds and if u would give me input on the kind you like to use and why that would be super thanks so muck A.J

You will get lots of different answers on this one I think.
My personal fave is a silicone loaf mold.

I also like the silicone loaf molds best, then Brambleberry's 12 bar silicone mold.

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

If you don't want to line, use a silicone mold. Otherwise, I would use a wooden mold.

Yep that is it... silicone first, wood second. And I do not mind lining my wood mold, just find the silicone easier. I also have the 12 bar silicone mold from BB and love it.

Thanks to all that responded, im not surprised that most of you use the silicone ones, i was waiting to see if any one had tried the acrylic one? but i guess not. Thanks again and Happy Holidays all a.j

I don't have an acrylic mold, but I have two 2 HDPE molds. Even though they are advertised as not needing a liner, I have to grease them up with petroleum jelly before each use or my soap sticks.

I have a wooden loaf mold and an acrylic slab mold that I use most often for CP. If I don't want to insulate or want to make ungelled soap, I'll use my plastic molds. I have some silicone molds, too, and I need to pull those out and play with them some more. I like my acrylic mold - I don't line it. Sometimes the soap pops right out after a couple of days, and sometimes it's sticky and I have to pop it in the freezer for a while before I can unmold.
