Question: I know I have seen this before but I can't find the answer:Vanilla Stabilizer, it's equal amts of FO + same amt VS? If it says 3 oz FO you would be adding 3 FO + 3 VS=6oz? Is this correct? I know that VS is temporary 6-9 months, in CP correct?

Here are our directions from the BB site

Vanilla Color Stabilizer: For melt and pour soap only, this product will keep your soap a nice white or ivory color. Use it with any brown coloring fragrance and you will be thrilled by the results! Use one tablespoon per pound of Melt and Pour soap.

NOTE: This product works marginally well in CP soap for 4 to 9 months before the fragrance eventually goes brown and is not intended for use with lotions or other toiletry products.

If you are getting it somewhere else, or one that is intended for CP then it may be different. Someone else may be able to offer more info on that as well. =)

I bought mine from another vendor as they said it was specifically for CP. Here are their instructions. Whatever you do, do NOT smell it out of the bottle. It smells pretty awful and strong! I kept a sample soap and over time the soap did discolor.

Instructions: Add equal amounts of this liquid to your fragrance oil (for every 1 oz of fragrance oil, add 1 oz of stabilizer). This liquid is not oil soluble, so it will not seem to mix with the fragrance oil, but that is normal. Vanilla Stabilizer has a strong chemical odor out of the bottle, but it will not affect the fragrance of the finished product. Sold by weight not volume.

Necro'ing a really old topic! XD If you're mixing equal parts FO and stabilizer, how much do you actually put in your soap? If I wanted to scent at 1 oz/ppo, do I put in 1 oz of FO + 1 oz of stabilizer, or only 1/2 oz of each? And should I make any other adjustments to the recipe (superfat, water amount, etc.)? Thanks!
