Teach Soap

Is it possible to have gorgeous swirls in HP soap. Mines so blah compared to the soaps nowadays. Colors dont seem to be as true either. I took a break from soapmaking. Big move, etc. Now Im ready or almost ready for the farmers markets, etc again

Hmm, I'm more into cold process soap at the moment but from what I've gathered it should actually be easier to do swirling with the hot process since you're doing it with a near solid rather than a liquid... More experienced HP'ers please correct me if I'm wrong.

I think it would be harder to swirl with hot process because your soap is so thick. I have problems getting a nice swirl in CP when my soap traces quickly and gets too thick. I can't imagine tring to get the color mixed well in HP.

yes, it's possible, no it's not easy IMO

I don't do it often. I do a lot of HP, and i do use colors, but I layer, or just randomly slap the colored soap into the molds.

If I'm doing one color, I just add my colorant to my oils before the cook so it's smooth. If I want more than one color, I add it to my super fatting oils/butters and if needed use a hand mixer to get it all in there. You have to work so super fast with this though. Kinda stressfull.
