I agree, "rock on purists" !
Castille soap did originate because of the olive oil produced in that particular city, and way back when it meant that only their particular olive oil was used. But as the years went on and the olive oil grew in popularity, and it crossed the ocean, this definition grew and changed to encompass all olive oil, which back then, all came from somewhere in Spain.
I researched this many years ago, so I stand by the Castille soap is 100% olive oil soap and 80% olive oil is Bastille soap. Anything else is just olive oil in a soap. Now clever, or not so clever, depending on your perspective, marketing techniques may tell the public that "Castille" means "all veggie", and eventually that may be accepted by the majority of the public, meaning that it will end up being truth, but for now, it is just their marketing hype. A concept they are trying to get the public to accept.
I vote we market our soaps as the cure all for stupidity and see if we can get it to catch on!
