I am new to soap making and had a lady ask if I had a recipe for oatmeal soap that did not contain olive or coconut oil. What oils can I substitute for the olive and coconut?

You can try rice bran for the olive oil and palm kernel for the coconut oil.

I like rice bran in soap, but it will make the bar harder and more creamy than the olive oil, but it also will make it less conditioning too. So you may want to mix it with something else, especially if your recipe has a large amount of oo. No matter what you use, remember to run it through a lye calculator before you use it as nothing is an exact exchange.

Sesame oil is a good substitution for olive oil and it has more unsaturated fat so more moisturizing.
