As a equivalent or close second to coconut oil? I haven't really seen any recipes out there with out it.

I formulated several of my recipes with Palm Kernel oil instead of coconut. I get the same lather and a plus is that you use less lye with the pko. I also have some recipes that use both coconut and palm kernel.

I do not use any palm kernel or palm oil, myself. I use babassu and really like it!

Thank you. I have never heard of babusu. I have used palm oil. Can you get Palm kernal oil in supermarkets?
