Hey I have a liter of Aloe Vera juice I want to incorporate into a bar of soap. Can I add it will the lye with the lye cooking it and turning it brown? Has anyone ever used this before? Maybe half water then mix in at trace? Also, I was wondering how people add avocados to their soap. I seen a bar of soap online with chunks of avocados in it and it was really super nice. I thought it would go racid? One more thing, if I puree an avocado and add to soap would I add it to the lye water or at trace?

Use half of the water to dissolve your lye. Than use the other half as aloe juice. You can puree an avocado and stick blend it into your cooled off oils.

If adding the avocado do you need to use any type of preservative?

I added 1.75 oz of pureed avocado at trace to a 21 oz (oil weight) batch, stick blending it in well before pouring (following someone else's advice from here--can't remember which post it was.) The soap is curing now.

Thanks for the advice! I have some avocados but they are'nt ripe enough yet lol!
