Is it better to gel your Cold Process Soap or not? Also, I'm kind of impatient person is there any way not cure cold process soap? I've heard you can go through the steps of cold process soap but instead of insulating it you put in the oven at 170* for 2 1/2 to 3 hours and let it sit in the oven with it off afterward overnight. Does the soap come out the same as the regular way or will it be different? I've done it twice this way so far and I did the tongue test and they were fine no zap. Just wondering if there was a difference.

Thanks in advance,
Sherry

Do whatever works for you. If you decide to put your soap in the oven at 170 degrees, you can either leave it there til it gels completely, then take the soap out to cool. Or you can turn the oven on 170, put the soap in there, then turn the oven off and leave it there overnight. If you leave the oven on for too long, your soap can overheat or burn. Burned soap smells pretty bad.
I prefer to not gel, but when I do, the soaps still cure for 4 to 6 weeks. No matter which method you decide to do, the soap still needs to cure. There is no shortcut.
