Since it appears I have a problem with one of the parts of my stick blender not being stainless steel, can anyone recommend a good brand or model that works well for making soap?

Thanks!

I read in an older thread somebody has one where the blender part comes off for easier cleaning.
I need one too and that sounds like such a good feature !
Sorry I don't have a recommendation Midnightstorm.

I have a Proctor Silex that I found on sale Black Friday (over a year ago) and only paid $10.00 each. I bought 6 and am still using the 1st one that I opened. I've had a Hamilton Beach in the past that was good and lasted about 2 years before I burned it up. I personally wouldn't spend a ton of money, maybe even check Ebay.

Places like Walgreens and box-type pharmacies usually carry gadgets. My first was an expensive stainless steel model that was over $65. Lasted about 2 months until the housing cracked and started skipping. I picked up a $10 "no-name" model from the drug store and have been using it for the past 6 years. And I make about 4 to 5 batches of soap a week. Except for the part where I didn't make any for 7 months. Go inexpensive and buy a backup.

If you can find the stainless steel Braun go for it. They don't make them anymore, but you might find one used. I'm still on my first one.

I got one of those inexpensive ones at the local thrift store for 3.00 (they have outlets to let you test before you buy) and that was nearly a year ago and it is still going strong. Also have a back-up (that I paid 10.00 for) just in case.

I bought a Hamilton Beach at walmart for less than $20 and it works well. It came with the stick attachment and a wire whisk. Very easy to clean.

Last week I bought the Oster at Walmart...$19.99. It's stainless steel and the bottom detaches for easy cleaning. It blended the one batch of soap i have made nicely...LOL...I hope it's still doing the same 100 batches from now!

I so dislike answering questions on affordable items. I never really know what that means since my affordable & idea of a bargain isn't always what yours might be. : )

That being said, I have a KitchenAid 9 speed that I picked up at Target for $20. I'm a KitchenAid junkie and to me $20 was a steal since KitchenAid items are usually much higher priced.
