has anyone felted bars of soap? I have seen them at craft fairs and they are pretty cool looking. Kind of pricey. You can find out how to do them on the internet. Seems like a good use for "ugly" soap

I felted quit a few, honestly, I don't get the hang of using felted soap except they looks beautiful and unique. If you use medium grade wool then it's too scratchy. If you use something like Merino wool it will work fine. The problem is you need to waste soap felting it with warm water, constantly rubbing to felt the wool for good 10 minutes at least. Then when you dry it out and ready to use it really does not help lathering. My family members had complaint to me on how little bubble is coming out in the shower. It's a great idea, just not practical to me cuz I love bubble.

I make felted soap and find it lovely. A customer that buys my soap at a local farm market co-op gave me some of my soap after she felted it. I thought it was odd at first, but now it's my favorite. It took some time to master, but I can now felt a good sized bar in around 4 to 5 minutes. What I like about it is that it gently exfoliates and it makes the soap float. It's great for the kids!
