I am new to soap making and need your advise. I did several batches of melt and pour but I want to do cp. How about a good basic recipe that is easy enough for a beginner? I would like one that will allow me some creative elbow room. I don't want to use any animal products if at all possible.
By the way what is meant by trace? Yeah, that is how new I am. I think I uderstand but could you describe it to an 8 year old, please :P I bet it is one of those things I will know it when I see it.

Thank you, Tim

Welcome! You can make an all veggie recipe from Miller soap. Don't forget to check it with an online lye calculator. I would also recalculate to make a smaller recipe. http://www.millersoap.com/soapallveg.html
Trace is when the raw soap is starting to thicken, so it's best to pour it into your mold before it thickens too much.
