Teach Soap

So, for cp and hp soaps, how do you package? I know I've bought soaps at markets in the past that were not packaged in any way, just had a cigar band around them. Should there be more to it?

Once CP soaps are cured, you can pretty much wrap them any way you like; pretty paper, kraft paper, fabric, shrink wrap with one side open so the soap can breathe or soap boxes. It depends what niche market you are trying to reach.

There are so many options, just keep trying different ideas until you find one that suits your soap and you. This is the one that has become my over all favorite, but yet the next soaps I wrap are going into homemade drawstring bags. I also like the simplicity of cigar bands. Have fun with it.

I wish I could see your picture, Susie! Is it paper bands or is it wrapped?

I have a bazillion yards of a muslin type fabric, so maybe I'll use that with a cigar band around it!

here is a larger version: I used cardstock and cut a strip, used the fancy cut sizzors to trim one edge then wrapped like a half package, put my name on front. The back has the name of the soap (flowering tree is this one) and the ingredient list. I also love cardmaking and scrapbooking so having cardstock to use is never an issue. I like your idea of the muslin cigar band - would love to see one done up! You could even pull some of the strings along the edges to give it a frayed look.
