I'd steer clear of most melt and pour soaps most contain sulfates and alcohols which can further dry your irritated skin out. Some people also have skin reactions to cows milk/goats milk and shea butter (usually only happens if you have a latex allergy), and even coconut oil (used to work in pharmaceuticals I've seen it all). If you're trying a "pure" olive soap make sure the ingredients are simply olive oil, water, sodium hydroxide.. it would also help if if the listed how long the olive oil soap has cured or aged for (the older it is the more mild it is) and if it is super-fatted. I personally don't recommend rice bran oil (I know it's supposed to be good for problem skin but haven't seen it) I have severe psoriasis/eczema and anything containing rice bran tends to make it worse, I've had a few customers and patients confirm the the same. If the skin on your hands in cracking I'd try putting a natural balm on it that had some beeswax or some natural veggie wax and some emollient ingredients. The wax in it will help protect the skin as well as help the skin absorb the emollients, reapply every time you wash or get your hands wet. Good luck and I hope it feels better!
