So, I'm new to this (I've only made 1 batch) but I really enjoy making soap so far. I have one question though.

How you keep your lye beads from going insane and jumping all over the place?

I was trying to pour them into a container on the scale to measure them, and I had dangerous little pellets of insanity flying every which way and clinging to everything. How do yall prevent this?

Rub everything beforehand with a fabric softener sheet to cut down on the static.

Welcome to the forum.

Ditto what soapbuddy said. I rub the outside of the container and the everything the lye will contact with a dryer sheet. I also got a long handled coffee scoop and I scoop the lye out of the container. That avoids most static issues. You have to make sure the coffee scoop is very dry. A single water droplet can cause serious problems.

I do the dryer sheet trick but I find that it fades quickly. Say I rub my scoop with the sheet, within 3-4 scoops into the lye container the beads are already sticking again. My boyfriend mentioned sticking a rubber ball into the container (we know rubber is not static conductive, but will it absorb it?). I just live with it.
