Teach Soap

Just cut the kelp salt bars. Still crumbly on outside but I got a good cut. Are these supposed to be rock hard? These are the hardest things--I feel like I am going to cut myself on the sides! Is that normal. I guess I just don't like salt bars because mine don't look like the texture of the ones you guys have been posting. Mine are super hard. I am about to give up on them.

Attached photo is the green salt bar (not pretty), a new whipped cream soap (with orange bits on top) and another embedded soap (the flower). And yes, the outside was supposed to be yellow but the vanilla killed it.

Are these better? I only have a camera on my phone and I seem to shake a lot! This am, noticed a LOT of ash on salt soap. First time for me!

Yes, salt bars are rock hard - so there's nothing wrong with yours if they're hard. Try cutting them when they're a little hotter, just when they're coming out of gel phase - that might make it easier on you and give you a smoother cut.

It's like any other soap - a little practice, and they'll be easy to get just the way you want them.

That's a little better; thanks! My salt bars get hard really fast! I have to cut them when they are still very hot with insulated gloves on.
