I understand what you say, but that's not the way I did it. Soapcalc will calculate the amount of lye without the need of setting any lye concentration percentage.
The amount of lye needed for the soap is calculated based in the combined saponification value for your oils/fats, the total oil/fat weight, and the superfatting percentage. The amount of water doesn't modify that.
Then, the amount of water is calculated as a percentage of the total oil weight.
You can also do it your way, but being a newbie, this way is easier, and so far, it's given me very good results.
