I was making pumpkin pie soap today using pumpkin pie fragrance from the sage.

All seemed to go well, I mixed the oil at 120 and lye at 105, they mixed nicely and everything, I was using the stickblender, then about a min in my blender just got stuck. Before I could even add the pumpkin puree!! I didn't know what to do with it and wasn't about to throw it away so I mixed in the puree with my hands as best I could and mashed the soap into my mold.
It gelled immediately!
I read about spice fragrances speeding things up but man that was some speeeed!

I'd like to try again, any tips? Not use the stick blender, maybe add less FO? I think I added way too much I put 1.5 for 3lbs because i wanted it to smell really strong! That was a bad idea. Also I added it pre-trace which might have been a bad idea as well

Yes, spices tend to accelerate trace. Use a stainless steel whisk instead and have both oils and lye water at around 110 degrees.

Were you using full water? That can help, too.

The amount of FO you used was about right, but spice scents are tricky beasts.

No I used 6 oz pumpkin puree, I saw on david fishers blog, and his soap turned out really nice. So I deducted the 6 oz from the total water weight.

How much pumpkin was that, in comparison to the batch size and the remaining water weight? It might have been too much for your recipe - hard to tell without something to compare it to.

My oil weight was 47 oz. Water weight was 17.8 so with 6 oz deduction (pumpkin puree) 11.8 oz.

That's a little high for pumpkin, which can overheat a bit, too - probably a combination of the pumpkin, the fragrance, and the temps you were working at.
