Teach Soap

How much mica should I be using in CP soap per pound? I don't want to overdue it and get bleeding, but still haven't found the right amount by experimentation, either it's way too light or to much and bleeds. Would 1 teas per pound be enough?

Geez, that's a good question....one I'd like to know the answer to, too!

Depending on what the color actually is and how dark you want the soap to be, I would start with 1/2 tsp.

I just bought titanium dioxide to use in My Cp with BBs Freah Snow. My soap usualy is a bone color. I figured to not let it jel and use the TD to help it stay as white as possible without changing my soap recipe. Do you think 1 tsp. in a 35 oz. batch will do the trick?

BB did not mention any discoloration with this FO. I was thinking discoloration from the light olive oil and tallow that I use. My soap is never actually white

If your soap is tan, beige or tinged with green that will affect the final color of the soap that you add the mica to.

Its more of a bone-tan color. Thats where I thought the titanimum dioxide would be helpful.

Linda, I think it's the tallow and not the olive oil. I made some plain jane soap, no fragrance or color with olive, coconut, palm & castor(i think) i'll have to look at the recipe, but anyway, it turned out a nice creamy white.
