Hi I am new to soap making and this question may be crazy, but here I go.
Is Fragrance Oil natural? I have been using Essential Oils and would like to try the Fragrance Oil, but want to keep my soaps as natural as I can. Thanks for the help.

Most fragrance oils are made of a combination of ingredients that include synthetic materials. I don't think they can be listed as natural.

Here is some info. on labeling and fragrance oils.

Rainbow Meadows has a scent blend calculator for those who would like to blend their own fragrances using essential oils. You might want to try the toothpick method of testing the blends before using those expensive oils. If the recipe calls for 5 parts Lavender, 4 parts patchouli and 4 parts rosemary, just dip the tips of five toothpicks in lavender, the tips of 4 toothpicks in patchouli and 4 in rosemary. Put the toothpicks in a zip-lock bag and seal. Check the next day to see if you like the blend. That way you don't waste expensive essential oils on a blend you don't care for.
