Teach Soap

Does anyone have any advice on how to melt a bucket of oil? It's palm oil so it needs to be melted and stirred before I can redistribute it into a master batch. If it was summer, I'd just put it outside in the back of my car. Coconut oil would be easy because it's a lower melt point.

Can you put it in a bathtub full of hot water or wrap it in a blanket and set it on a heating pad?

I know the voices in my head aren't real, but they sure have some great ideas!

Do you have an electric heating blanket used for a bed? That will work. Just give it some time.

It's been sitting on a heating pad for 2 days. It's just over 90 degrees (F) at the bottom. I tried putting an electric throw blanket around but I couldn't get it snug enough (or something) to make much difference.

I'm thinking about sitting it under my dryer's exhaust vent.

A bathtub filled with hot water might work out better for you then.

The dryer exhaust idea is not working as well as I need it to.

I'm not enthusiastic that a bathtub of water will work. Our water heater is not large enough to draw a bathtub full of hot water, to the depth of a full 5 gallon bucket. By that depth, the water is tepid. By the time the water heater has reheated to fill the tub, the bath water will be tepid. The water heater is also not set hot enough. I would have to change the water out to keep a slim margin of heat. I could possibly set the water heater much higher, but that's not something I want to mess around with.

I'm cruising for used turkey fryers on craigslist right now. That would do it.
