I have a book that talks about making the soap, then shredding it and adding water and then add ingredients, like oils and such. Can't I just add the things I want at trace? What is the difference?

Remilling is same thing as rebatching. It's more "rustic".
CP soap is cold processed soap. You can do a variety of things to this soap.
