 Post subject: Does beeswax go bad?

Hi everyone. I know I have been gone a long time. But I am hoping that I will be able to pick up with my soaps again soon. So here's my first question. I have a friend who actually gave me a block of beeswax she has had for some time. She figures it is probably at least 5 years old. It obviously was exposed to heat at some time as there is a crack and whitish looking spots. So is it still any good to use? Or does it go bad when not used or not stored in a certain way? Here are some pictures of it to help you tell what shape it is in. Image
