Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving! I am stuffed!

I was hoping someone could help me with a recipe for liquid laundry detergent. I use the borax, washing soap & grated soap mushy stuff which works great but looks awful. I wanted to try making liquid detergent using potash, glycerin, coconut oil, borax, washing soda?, & essential oils. I can't seem to find a basic recipe to sort of guide myself by. Can I use a regular cp lye calculator to calculate for liquid soaps?

You can make it actually without having to use so many ingredients and cutting down on your costs if you want. I posted a recipe in the other thread near the top on the cold process forum using borax, washing soda and lard with whatever EO you want. I've been using it and I love it! Getting ready to make my own scent matching fabric softener instead of using plain vinegar (which works fine - I just want more scent when laundry is done).

Very easy - took maybe 15 minutes to make a gallon and it's CHEAP! Lard is supposed to be great for cleaning the laundry.

As with any homemade laundry detergent/soap I'd make sure you run vinegar in your rinse cycle each time or every few loads so you don't get a build up in your washer. Downy ball with vinegar works great too I hear.
