I am new to this forum and hoping for some help - I have a favorite cold process recipe I use, but it fits a 6 lb mold, and my mold is a 5 lb - I have tried using the recipe resizer on Summer Bee Meadow's site, but I first have to run the oils thru their lye calculator - and it gives me a different amount of lye than my recipe calls for (and has been fine for the many years I have used it). I also found a mathematical way online to resize a recipe, but I have huge difficulty doing calculations. While I know that I can cure and use the leftover that won't fit into the mold for rebatching, I would prefer to not have to use the extra ingredients. Does anyone know of a resizing tool that won't mess with my lye amount, or can help me resize my recipe?

Whenever I get a new mold, I use Summer Bee Meadow's calculator because it has a resize batch feature based on mold dimensions you enter. You calculate your recipe then it allows you to resize it on the next screen to custom mold sizes (and their molds, of course). After I do a resize, I just use the weight of the oils from the output with my regular soap calculator.

I've found that I've needed to resize for any new mold because one supplier's "5 lb" mold isn't really the same size as the next supplier's "5 lb" mold.
