Would tea tree oil be good to add to a coconut oil,20% superfat , salt bar? I've read that it has anti-bacterial properties and wondered if this would be good as a face bar to combat acne? Maybe at 1%?
Does anyone have a favorite acne soap they'd like to share a recipe for? Not selling - just personal use!!
Blessings,
Sherri

Depending on the person, an only coconut oil salt bar could be very drying for the face, even with a high sf.
But my husband and daughter have very oily skin & have acne issues. They seem to have less acne flare ups when using my salt bar (coconut oil, castor oil, shea butter, salt) which also has tea tree eo & activated charcoal in it.

Just make sure you don't overdo it on the eo because tea tree is already pretty strong & salt soaps really seem to hold the scent well.

Thank you, Genny! Do you use 100% salt to oils? What property does the charcoal add? I did think of adding 10% castor oil.
Blessings,

I do add equal amounts of salt & oil, which I recommend using individual molds for because they get hard very fast.
Charcoal is supposed to be good for absorbing oils.

P.S. I just wanted to say, these are soaps that only family use & that if you're selling your soap, claiming that any of the ingredients help get rid of acne is a big no-no. ;)
